Script Coverage
When I’m not writing my own projects or assisting other filmmakers to help make theirs, I read scripts and write Script Coverage. Typically, there are two types of Script Coverage report that I write, which differ slightly depending on who I am reading for.
For Production Companies
I write 3-page reports summarizing the logline, synopsis, and overall strengths and weaknesses of the project and offer a recommendation.
This report format can vary depending on the production company preference.
For Independent Writers
I write detailed Script Coverage reports (10 pages). Summarizing the logline, synopsis of the project, and specific notes on the strengths and weaknesses of character, dialogue, structure, tone, and plot, with recommendations and suggestions.
